Policemen disguised as a truck driver to nab the accuse

A group of more than 50 residents attacked the eight policeman.

They work hard  to nab the accused, policemen from Mira Bhayander police station disguised themselves as truck drivers in Bhiwandi and fought a mob of over 50 people. On November 5,  Two accused targeted a 56-year-old woman who was out for a morning walk at Vasai and took her gold chain weighing 12.05 grams worth Rs 60,000 approximately. The two accused had approached the victim and told her that they were policemen and a woman’s throat had been slit for her gold chain by unidentified men.

The victim got scared and the accused  asked her to remove her chain and keep it in folded paper. As the victim removed her chain, the two accused replaced it with another folder. The victim after reaching her house found that the paper handed over to her by the accused didn’t contain her chain. A police complaint was registered at Navghar police station in Vasai.

After analysing the CCTV footage helped them to identify the two accused as part of the Irani gang that targeted innocent citizens posing as policemen and conning them of their things. With the help of informers, the police team found that the accused were cousins and residents of the Irani pada area of Ambivali in Central suburbs. Accordingly, trap was set down and the team of eight policemen from Navghar police station disguised as truck and pick up van drivers camped in the area with an informer. He spotted the two accused aged 23 and 26. A mob of more than fifty residents attacked the eight policemen but they somehow managed to restrain the release of the duo and left the area in an hour.
